manual labor
It seems like many items we buy today have no owner's manuals packaged with the product, but you can download them online for free.
Well, not really. By the time you factor in the costs of paper, ink, electricity and an adequate 3 ring binder to hold those 150 + pages, your purse will be around 5 bucks lighter.
And, while you can scan PDF files or perform searches on various topics contained in the document, there's just something about having that hard copy manual in your hands. That's why the "paperless" prediction never came true.
