global warming update

Today's early morning outdoor temperature provides no hint of the looming dog days typically ahead. In fact .. last month was the second coolest July on record here in the valley.

If this global warming problem gets any worse .. we'll be breaking out the winter coats and mittens.

  1. I love this weather we've been having, but I'm so afraid we're going to pay for it in August - when we're back to school and the kids need to get outside!

Still, it IS lovely now. We're enjoying it.

  2. It's hard to imagine going thru August without at least a few hot & muggy days.

A southerly breeze makes this 80° day quite tolerable.

  3. Where is Al Gore hiding during all of this?

And, more importantly, where is the post - and pictures - of your birthday celebration?

  4. Al Gore would be proud of California. Outside of a short spate of high 80's to mid-90's last week, we have been getting triple-digit heat. Today's high hit 101°F.

So we expect this to continue through mid-September. While the "tongue-in-cheek" comments about global warming are made while you enjoy moderate temperatures, climate change is the bigger problem.

Let us hope that our world does not take a belly punch in the global bread basket.

  5. I guess Al is now in the TV business .. those were his reporters that Bill Clinton rescued from the evil North Koreans.

And my birthday was spent quietly .. some of it with family. We celebrated it with cake and homemade ice cream yesterday.
