go organic

Seth Sez: "The results are fantastic. this coffee is so floral and incredibly lively, from start to finish. The acidity is amazingly well-defined, with lemony brightness. The body is very light, yet thrilling. The aroma has strong, pulpy fruitiness, and a lemon-blossom sweetness, with dried peach fruit and lemon rind scents. The rindy citrus quality comes through in the cup, as well as an intense spice accent of ginger and a bit of clove, with a winey accent to the fruit in the aftertaste, as well as drying cocoa powder finish. As it cools, the chocolate shifts, and the aftertaste is more intense, like baker's chocolate. It's a joy to cup this coffee."

I Sez: "What he said."

I know. Just finished my 2nd cuppa. The freshly roasted beans give an aroma different than other specialty coffees I have tried thus far.

As well, the taste of this Ethiopian Natural Sidamo is unique. I shall anticipate its high quality when I brew my morning coffee tomorrow.

Later today — late afternoon — I shall do the Brazilian Fazenda Aurea for the first time.

Last evening I gave my coffee grinder a thorough cleaning. It was eager to get to work this morning to launch my early coffee enjoyment.

I began my coffee drinking almost forty years ago. At the time I was a night supervisor at Dayton Yellow Cab. I needed the caffeine to get me through the shift. Little did I know that someday I would upgrade my coffee-drinking habit. A drastic change.

A great big 'thank you' to e.craig.

You said your coffee grinder was eager to get to work so it could launch your coffee enjoyment. Your grinding and brewing in your office?

Do they oraganic beer?

Beer is naturally organic.

My grinder was eager to work here at home doing its grinding.

I am currently enjoying the Brazilian Fazenda Aurea. Again, a unique flavor. Just a bit subdued in comparison to Ethiopian Natural Sidamo.

I have been ordering a couple pounds of coffee beans every 2 weeks which just last until the next order arrives.

There is always availability of new coffees from Seth Appell. Only once did I skip one to re-order the Guatemalan Huehuetenango.

No coffee to date is one that I would not re-order.

The Guatemalan is one of my favorites. And .. I'm enjoying the Ethiopian also .. along with coffee that Seth bought from a co-op in Costa Rica.

I agree .. not a bad one in the batch when it comes to the offerings from Old Bisbee.

The Costa Rican coffee that I have enjoyed from Old Bisbee is that from the Pulp Natural CoopePalmares Project. Apparently all of the families in the cooperative sun-dry their coffee beans.

Or .. the drying is done at the co-op, which I think is more likely. Maybe not.

Costa Rican is another of my favorites .. what I buy most frequently at Meijer.
