this is not your father's clicker
Does anyone remember the original TV remote .. called a Clicker? I think it consisted of an On/Off button, and up & down surf buttons that made a funky click sound when you pushed 'em. Sound familiar?
The one pictured here is what I call an upgrade. My most recent .. got it yesterday along with my new HD receiver from Dish Network. And for 10 dollars more a month I get over 100 HD channels now .. along with all the original ones.
My High Definition Sony TV was purchased over 5 years ago .. back when HD was just something being talked about. So, after all this time, I figured it was about time to start watching some HD shows .. I gave Dish a ringy ding, and upgraded.
Imagine "Sons of Anarchy" in high def .. I recorded it this evening for viewing tomorrow morning with a cup of hot fresh coffee. The nature shows have been awesome .. and a local TV news reporter now looks twice as hot as she did before.

Wow. You've had an HD television for five years, but just now getting HD service? Surely I read that wrong (I probably did).
ReplyDeleteYou got it right, Coffeypot. And the technology was SO new that Sony's method of handling the incoming broadcast signal did not make the cut. Fortunately .. I don't have to worry about that because all my shows come through the satellite receiver .. sort of a hi-tech conversion box.
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, I used to repair Sony TVs. Their Trinitron® screen has always delivered a clear picture with good color saturation. I think it's HD picture is better than the LCD TV in my guest bedroom.
The HD channels have always been available to me .. I just didn't want to part with ten more bucks a month.
