This contraption is a "Complete Body Analysis Scale." It measures weight, body fat and lean muscle mass using a process called biometric impedance analysis. That's a fancy way of saying that when one steps on the scales with bare feet a tiny electrical signal is sent through the body, thus measuring its electrical impedance (think resistance).
Priced at fifteen bucks at ALDI, it is considered a smart purchase. Besides.. I was ready for a new toy.

This is cool. I wonder how much fat I have in my thin body haha. I'll try to find one in the shop, it's a good present to my Mom-in law, she's health conscious.
